Tuesday
S was sick twice last night. He is always sick on holidays. Not sure if it's some kind of nervous thing (he sure does not seem nervous) or if he has a really really sensitive stomach and cannot cope with any change of diet/water at all. Shame.
He seems okay today so hopefully holiday will continue tomorrow. The weather is nice so we put him into the buggy and went for a stroll (T carried P, which always worries me in case he trips and drops him but it seemed worth the risk.)
Yesterday we went to a village built into the rock face. We walked up steep footpaths and found derelict houses and caves. Smugglers galore.
Then drove to Domme, which was a bit too 'touristy' for us. Had some nice crepes in a cafe next to the road though. I like the outside cafes in France, they feel different to the ones in England when you wonder why you are sitting outside when there's a perfectly comfy inside with empty tables.
Drove back to cottage via the Intermarche. I nearly bought horse meat by mistake when buying beef. Which I don't quite know why I find that such an awful thought when logically, both are beautiful animals, but I do.

Monday
Up late (8ish - bliss.) Croissant and coffee - so much nicer than Sainsbury's.
Walked to village in lovely sunshine, then swam before lunch.
2:15: I've just cooked a most revolting lunch. Luckily everyone was starving, so it all went. Fresh cherries for dessert.
I'm now sitting under the shade of a vine, sipping sangria, listening to crickets sing and watching newts play on the patio. C'est parfait.
Went for a drive through some pretty villages to a chateaux. There were dogs and it was expensive, so we didn't go in. Found a supermarket - not very 'ethnic' but it made T happy!
Cottage boiling hot. Children didn't sleep for ages.

Sunday
The best thing about the cottage is that it has shutters instead of curtains. They cut out all the light, so S and L didn't wake until 8am (not at dawn, like usual!)
We had no food for breakfast except for breadsticks and orange juice (bit of a failing on the mummy front.) Went to Lalinde and found a supermarket open and a bakers. Everyone very friendly and laughed at our appalling French (but seemed to be pleased that we were trying.)
Gorgeous weather. Came home and swam in the pool. It was freezing.
Tinned stew lunch (horrible.)
Walk and ice-cream in Lalinde.
Fresh bread and cheeses for tea, then played in the garden.
